Mac System Requirements
ccScan does not run natively on Mac computers or computers running on IOS, Windows RT, Linux or Unix OS. However, ccScan runs well on Virtual Machines (VMs) that are installed on iMacs, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air. In fact, our software engineers develop and test ccScan on an iMac using a VM running ccScan.
VMware Fusion, Parallels Desktop, VirtualBox, CrossOver and BootCamp are viable VMs for running ccScan on a Mac. To find out which is best for your environment search the Web or review Macworld or Mac Support articles. We use Fusion so that is the only recommendation we can provide at this time.
Generally, Fusion is better performing than Parallels because it can run on multiple personal systems. Both may perform better than VirtualBox, CrossOver or Boot Camp. Allow for the cost of the VM for your specific operating system and the cost of a Windows client. Most of the newer Windows versions are available as an ISO file or USB thumb drive to simplify the Windows installation.
Most peripherals of a Mac will work in the VM including TWAIN-driven scanners designed to run on Windows.
